End Of Year Card Exchange

What’s Going On

At the end of what was a very rough year for many in 2020, Michelle Frayman and I decided we wanted to end it with the warm socially-distanced hug that we all sorely needed. To do this, we launched the datafam card exchange. Regardless of what holidays you celebrate, where you were located, or who you knew, we wanted to give an opportunity to end the year with just a little more cheer. People signed up and cards were sent both domestically and internationally. I think I can speak for many when I say it was a much appreciated light at the end of a dark tunnel.

And guess what, we’re bringing it back!

Though 2021 has been an improvement on the prior year (low bar), there’s no reason not to continue spreading the positivity and smiles and giving people the opportunity to connect. Especially when this time of year can get busy and hectic for most, it’s nice to take a moment and write a friendly note.

How Does It Work

  1. Sign up using this form by the end of the month (11/30)

  2. Get an email with the name and address of the person you’ll be sending a card to in the beginning of December (12/6)

  3. Send your card out! Get as creative as you’d like last year people sent wonderful things from homemade cards to small gifts. But no pressure, a regular card will do as well :)

That’s all there is to it. The person who you will be sending a card to may not be the person you’re receiving on from so this is a great opportunity to make TWO new friends in the community or to let an old one know how much you appreciate them. We politely request that you make the cards as holiday-agnostic as possible unless the person specified that they celebrate it in order to be respectful of each other.
